From climate governance and contemporary politics to Maya worldviews, Latina narratives, Hindi cinema, and questions about humanity’s place in the universe, Sonoma State faculty are producing scholarship that explores some of the most compelling questions of our time.

The Sonoma State Library is partnering again with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) to present the Spotlight on Scholarship lecture series.

The Fall 2026 semester has begun, and the Sonoma State campus is abuzz with activity. SSU scholars have also been active in the summer months. Following are the works published during the month of August.

The library will be closed Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7, for Labor Day weekend, but many library resources are still available online.

When you think of the library, books may be the first thing that comes to mind. And yes, we have plenty of those. But the library is also a place to create, collaborate, experiment, solve problems, get help, and find the kind of space you need to do your best work.

Textbooks and course materials can be expensive, but you may not need to purchase every book, reading, or film assigned for your classes.

The new semester is starting and we’re excited to welcome students and faculty back to campus. Whether you’re returning to Sonoma State or are new to the Seawolf community, the University Library is here to help you learn, teach, create, and connect throughout the year.
